Slipping away

What would you do when you know that the time has come to let go?
Do you strive to salvage a cause that may be lost?
Would you make the best of borrowed time?
Do you go down on bended knees, clasp hands held up and beg for sympathy?
Do you hold your chin up under false pretenses while your heart shatters into a million pieces?
Do you expose your self to the last thread and let your misery be known?

Would you let it all slip away...............?

Please don't cry anymore
I still don't have the courage
nor the strength
to make things right or
to right the wrongs

Please don't cry anymore
even if the bitterness of choices
have left us bereft
with the deepest regret
and eternal misery

Please don't cry anymore
because I hear whispers of hope
and chants of belief
that we are near
no matter what.

I've never had a new year's resolution. This is simply because I've never believe that resolutions should be an annual event.

Shouldn't we have resolutions as soon as we realise we need one?
