Lost in Space

Sitting with some friends watching the sun set over the Cote d'Azur, I found myself quietly whistling to my favourite song by Lighthouse Family.

Sometimes I get tired of this me first attitude
You are the one thing that keeps me smiling
That's why I'm always wishing hard for you
Cause your light shines so bright
I don't feel no solitude
You are my first star at night
I'd be lost in space without you

And I'll never lose my faith in you
How will I ever get to heaven, if I do

Feels just so fine
When we touch the sky me and you
This is my idea of heaven
Why can't it always be so good

But it's alright, I know you're out there
Doing what you've gotta do
You are my soul satellite
I'd be lost in space without you.....

Here's the song.

Gems are rare, but when found, are cherished.
Love crosses all boundaries with no discriminations.

In chaos, stress and heartbreak, I have somehow found calmness.
Sincerity exists....., rare, once found, exists wholeheartedly.

And letting go is the hardest, once achieved, liberates the soul....

My Stand

When up against a wall,
Above anyone else, I will stand tall.

My Heroes

  • The indian barber that cajoled me, at 4 years of age, into having my first hair cut, ridding me of my first ever phobia...... myearwillgetsnippedophobia.
  • The chinese trishaw man that patiently took me home on my second day of school, when dad was late in fetching me. From then on, I always believe in seeking alternative solutions.
  • Wai King and Wai Mun, my primary school classmates who always relegated me to third in class. They taught me to strive to better educate myself.
  • Peggy. My first crush and my first kiss. We were only 8. I'm still a hopeless romantic until today.
  • The old school and my contemporaries. I learned independence, camaraderie, courage and respect.
  • Fek Mawarzi. He told me to never drop the ball.
  • My Irish economics professor, who had a thick accent. For the life of me, I could never understand what he was saying. It wasn't economics that I learned from him. It was how to be resourceful in getting results.
  • Ms Wong. My boss who taught me that instincts are never to be ignored.
  • Mike. My English boss, who believed that I had the talent to go far. He told me to believe in those talents.
  • Kim(ch)i. She taught me love and despair.
  • Dad. He allowed me to make my own choices in life....and that I have to be responsible for every choice I make.
  • Mom. For sheltering me unconditionally.
  • MMR. Love, faith, devotion, support, strength and care. My true hero for the last 19 years......
